Cast from high-strength ductile iron, the 540-5 frame provides superior resistance to cracking, bending, and stress under load compared to standard malleable iron frames. With a generous 5-inch jaw opening capacity and a 2-1/2-inch throat depth, it generates up to 2,250 lbs of clamping force for secure workpiece positioning.

Designed to maximize torque in tight quarters, the clamp includes a hardened, cold-drawn steel spindle cut with smooth ACME threads to allow rapid adjustments without binding. A corrosion-resistant coating applied to the spindle and swiveling pad guards against moisture and debris, while the steel sliding T-bar handle allows optimal leverage in restricted spaces.
