About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique or aged aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, or worn-look surface treatments. Distressed rugs utilise a surface treatment that mimics decades of use, often employing an overdyed process where the original piece is submerged in a saturated colour bath to reveal ghost traces of the underlying pattern. These rugs draw from mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving traditions, where regional motifs were produced in small village workshops.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie perfectly flat against the floor, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens, and entryways. Its profile is ideal for layering over larger rugs or placing over underfloor heating systems.

Why Choose This Rug?

• — Features a distinct turquoise palette with a distressed finish that highlights the underlying ghost-pattern.
• — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend; cotton provides essential breathability, while polyester ensures durability and moisture resistance.
• — The flatwoven construction creates a no-pile surface that is easy to maintain and resistant to shedding.
• — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production.
• — Designed for high-traffic environments, this rug is compatible with underfloor heating and functions effectively as a layering piece.
