Balloon Flower (Platycodon grandiflorus) Perennial

Also called the Chinese Bellflower, these attractive blooms “inflate” like a balloon or Chinese lantern before opening to reveal their vibrant, star-shaped petals. This easy-to-grow perennial, which can reach up to 24” tall, promises to attract pollinators. Valued for medicinal properties. Plants require patience and are beautiful after first year.

• Germination: 10-25 days
• Direct sow in full sun after last frost or start indoors 6-8 weeks prior to last frost. Roots do not tolerate transplant well so direct sowing is preferable.
• Press scattered seeds gently into soil. Moist soil and light are required for successful germination. Water/mist gently after sowing.
