Sold by
Description
This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind turquoise rug reflects authentic Anatolian heritage, featuring a flatwoven construction with a faded patina, abrash detail, and overdyed finish. Its low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable, layering-friendly, underfloor-heating safe, reversible weave, soft-touch, distressed character, ghost-pattern, 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal, sun-bleached tones make it a unique addition.
About This Style
Vintage rugs are defined by an aesthetic that evokes mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving, often utilising natural dyes and regional motifs. Distressed treatments mimic decades of wear through abrash colour variations and erased pile, which reveals the rug’s base structure. The medallion motif serves as a central anchor, typically rendered in a stylised or geometric form common to Turkish craftsmanship, and is frequently enhanced by an overdyed finish that leaves ghost traces of the original pattern.
Where It Works
The flatwoven construction ensures this rug lies flat, making it practical for high-traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens, and entryways. Its low-profile design is compatible with underfloor heating and is ideal for layering over larger carpets or hard flooring.
Why Choose This Rug?
- — Features a prominent central medallion motif with a distressed surface treatment and sun-bleached turquoise tones.
- — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend, providing both the breathability of natural fibre and the moisture resistance required for everyday use.
- — The flatwoven, no-pile construction is highly durable, resistant to shedding, and allows for seamless placement in high-traffic zones.
- — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production.
- — Versatile design that is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems and suitable for layering in various residential settings.
