About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, or worn-look surface treatments. These pieces reference the mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving tradition, where items were produced in small village workshops using regional motifs. Floral vintage rugs utilise botanical forms, ranging from densely scrolled all-over fields to repeated bouquet motifs, reflecting both traditional Ottoman design vocabulary and 20th-century regional variations.

Where It Works

Due to its flatwoven construction and no-pile profile, this rug is suited to high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. It is compatible with underfloor heating systems and serves as an effective base for layering over larger carpets.

Why Choose This Rug?

• — Features an intricate floral motif with a distressed finish, showcasing a ghost-pattern effect created through traditional overdying techniques.
• — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend; the cotton provides breathability, while the polyester adds durability and moisture resistance for everyday use.
• — The flatweave construction ensures the rug lies perfectly flat against the floor, preventing trip hazards and accommodating doors that clear low-profile surfaces.
• — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production.
• — The low-pile, no-shed surface is designed for high-traffic durability, making it a practical choice for busy households and professional environments.
