Asimina triloba (Common Pawpaw) is a small deciduous tree native to eastern North America, prized for producing the largest edible fruit native to the United States. Its tropical-flavored, custard-like fruit tastes like a blend of banana, mango, and melon. In spring, unique maroon-purple flowers appear before the large, lush green leaves emerge, creating a tropical appearance that turns yellow in fall. Pawpaw typically reaches 15–25 ft tall and 15–20 ft wide in 10 years, eventually maturing at 20–40 ft tall.
