Anise

Anise (Illicium species), also commonly known as Anise Shrub or Florida Anise, is an evergreen shrub valued for its glossy foliage, aromatic leaves, and shade tolerance. Commonly used as a hedge, screen, or foundation plant, Anise performs well in North Florida landscapes, particularly in shaded or woodland settings. When crushed, the leaves release a licorice-like scent.

Care Needs:
• Light: Part sun to shade
• Water: Moderate; prefers consistently moist, well-drained soil
• Pruning: Minimal; prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape
• Fertilizer: Apply a balanced fertilizer in spring
