Acer palmatum 'La Diabla'

Japanese Maple

Zones 5-9

Acer palmatum ‘La Diabla Sport’ is a distinct mutation (sport) of the striking Japanese maple ‘La Diabla’, also known as “The Devil Woman.” This amazing spring-interest cultivar puts on a spectacular display of fiery color. In early spring, the leaves emerge in brilliant shades of orange-red, with yellow-green developing toward the center of the leaf to create a striking, flame-like appearance.

As the season progresses, ‘La Diabla Sport’ transitions to a beautiful light green in summer before developing vibrant shades of orange and red in the fall. This vigorous cultivar is expected to reach approximately 8–10 feet tall in 10 years, making it an excellent choice for adding spectacular seasonal color and interest to the landscape.
