Description
There's a specific kind of scent that only makes sense once you've smelled real oud up close — sharp, resinous, a little unapologetic. A Valley of Gold, from the house of Armaf, is Risala's attempt at that register, priced for people who want to try the genre before investing in it.
Davana, bergamot and pink pepper open things with an aromatic, almost peppery freshness — not the citrus-forward opening you'd expect from a "gold" name.
Oud Without the Intimidation The heart brings agarwood front and center, softened by white amber and a green note of rosemary. It's oud-forward but not oud-only, which makes it considerably more wearable day-to-day than most straight oud compositions.
A Grounded, Leathery Finish Leather, musk and vetiver close it out — dry, a little smoky, built for cooler months and evenings rather than a summer afternoon.
If you've been curious about oud fragrances but hesitant about the price of entry, this is a reasonable place to start.
