Description
DESCRIPTION:
Two things happen on this ring at once: the shank splits into two bands as it approaches the head, and the center stone is ringed by a double halo. The split opens a window of skin on either side of the halo, which keeps a 14.8 mm head from reading as a solid slab of metal across the finger.
The center stone is a cushion cut diamond weighing 4.13 carats, described as fancy white and clarity enhanced. Side stones are detailed all the way around the band and add 1.50 carats, for a total diamond weight of 5.63 carats. Those stones are F to H in color and VS1 to VS2 in clarity, so no inclusions are visible to the naked eye anywhere on the ring.
The mounting is 18K yellow gold and weighs 8.5 grams. A double halo is the most efficient way to add apparent size: the inner row reads as part of the center stone and the outer row as its frame, so a 4.13 carat cushion presents with the footprint of a considerably larger solitaire. The clarity enhancement on the center stone is stated here rather than left out, because it is part of what the stone is and part of why it is priced where it is.
