DESCRIPTION:

Four and a half carats of diamond on a 5.3 gram mounting is the balance this ring strikes. The center is a 3.02 carat round brilliant, EGL certified at J color and VS1 clarity, prong set in 18K gold.

Total diamond weight is 4.53 carats, with 1.51 carats of that in small round cut side diamonds. At 3/8 of an inch, 10 mm, the band is narrow for a center stone this size. That is a deliberate proportion: less metal in the sightline leaves the three carat round reading at full size rather than being shortened by a heavy shank.

J is the final grade of the near colorless range, the point where a faint warmth becomes detectable face up in some lighting. Color moves price steeply at three carats, so a J center buys considerably more size than a G would for the same spend, and that is the honest reason this ring is priced where it is.
