Description
DESCRIPTION:
This ring is documented more thoroughly than most. The center stone is a 1.54 carat round brilliant cut diamond with a GIA report, graded G in color and VS1 in clarity, with good polish, good cut and good symmetry and no fluorescence recorded. Those last four readings are the ones buyers rarely get told and they are the reason the stone returns light evenly rather than going flat on one side.
Micro pave round cut diamonds run halfway around the band rather than the full circle. They add 1.71 carats, which brings total diamond weight to 3.25 carats at VS1 clarity and G color. Stopping the pave at the halfway point leaves solid 18K white gold across the underside of the shank, where a ring takes the most abrasion, and it leaves the band resizable later on. A fully paved eternity shank does not. The head measures 7.5 mm in diameter and the mounting weighs 6 grams.
VS1 means no inclusions are visible to the naked eye and none are easy to find even under a loupe. G sits at the top of the near colorless range, so the stone shows no warmth set against white metal. At 6 grams this is a deliberately lean ring, built around the quality of one clean stone instead of around bulk.
