Nearly the whole diamond weight of this ring is in one stone. The center is a GIA certified round brilliant of 1.54 carats graded G in color and SI1 in clarity, out of 1.67 carats total across the piece.

That leaves very little for the sides, which are small round cuts set to flank the center rather than frame it. The effect is close to a solitaire: the budget went into a single certified stone instead of being divided among many, which is the opposite approach to a halo design of the same total weight and a different thing to own.

G color sits at the top of the near colorless range and shows no tint in white metal. SI1 means inclusions are not visible to the naked eye. The mounting is 14K gold and weighs 4.5 grams, with metal color selected at order. Made at Avianne and Co in New York City's Diamond District.
